Summer.

Everybody looks forward to it.

{If you don't you have issues}

Summer is loved because it is freedom.

Even if you may not say it that way, we enjoy summer because we are free.
No annoying school deadlines, late night study sessions, nothing to keep you from having fun, doing what you want to do, and being who you want to be.

BLISS

Do you feel like sometimes you live for "summer"?

Not necessarily the season, but more of the state of mind?

For me, summer is more of a state of mind.

We go through each day, but the only thing that gets us through is the thought that something better, freeing, and blissful comes after all this hard work.

We look forward to summer, and we think in our minds, "FINALLY. Now I can do what I want, go where I want. Be free. BE ME. Live life for fun. Nothing to worry about, all fun in the sun."

Do you ever feel disappointed?

Because I do.

Summer has become something different entirely over the years.

Nothing is wrong with it, but I feel it leaves us with unrealistic expectations of what lies ahead of us. 

Nothing is wrong with having fun during the summer, and even though sometimes summer doesn't end up exactly the way I wanted it, I end up leaving it full of joy. It is always fun. We are free. We are happy. Summer is wonderful.

But there is something to be said about only living for what is coming next.
I feel like maybe we should live every single day like it is summer.

Why can't we capture that sun and surf those waves every day?

Instead of living life like you are lost at sea, waiting endlessly until you find the shore full of celebration, warmth, and hope, dance on the wet sand.


Enjoy the summer that you are living in right now.

Make every day a party.

Every day is warmth.

Instead of riding the faris wheel, with your only goal being to get to the top, try finding the beauty all around the circle.

now, about me

Some of you may remember me.
Some of you may not.


But I am back.


Previous blogger on "Purple-ish 24/7" and "Pictures, Laughter, Words", I am here to get a fresh start. After letting go of those blogs about a year ago, I felt good. It was a very much needed break. But I am here to start anew and hopefully this will go a billion times better than last time.

For those of you who don't know me, let me introduce myself!

I am Sara Beth!

I am 15 years old, and I SWIM.

I swim a lot. A lot a lot a lot. As in twice a day a lot. Probably around 8,000 yards a day.

And I love it. It is my sport. It is my thing. I just refer to it as my thing. I hope to swim in college some day, if that is God's plan for me.

I live in the south. When most people think of the south they either think of this:

gotta love the vinyard

Or this:

the whole lilly pullitzer deal

OR this:

this is probably the most true interpretation for me actually

And you want to know the truth?

All of these images of the south are not true.

But then again they are.

Let me explain.

There is a vineyard vines store and a lilly pullitzer store about 10 minutes from my house.

A majority of the things I own are monogrammed.

I personally know several rednecks. 

I also own camoflauge.

I eat barbeque.

And drink sweat tea.

Yet I live about 7 hours away from the nearest beach.

And I live in Tennesse.

Drive 45 minutes and I am in Mississippi.

In my opinion, there are two different types of "southern".
The redneck barbque hunting type.
And the golfing preppy boating type.
I happen to fall right in the middle! In my opinion, it is the best place to be!

Now that we've cleared that up, let me tell you a bit more!
I am homeschooled. Have been my whole life. No, I do not wear denim jumpers. No I do not have chickens. Or goats. Or any farm animals for that matter, I just have dog. I am not sheltered. I have friends. I know how to read, talk, socialize. I listen to "normal people" music and watch "normal people" movies and do "normal people" things. All except the going to school and riding the bus part.
But...YES! I DO do my schoolwork in my pajamas.
And that, my friends, is the best part of homeschooling.

I really like fashion. Clothes clothes clothes clothes clothes. It is kind of important to me. I feel like the way you dress really tells something about yourself.
